Risk Minimization Addressed in 2017 Rules Changes

nfhsIn an effort to minimize the risk of injury, the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Boys Lacrosse Rules Committee recommended six rules changes, including only allowing the goalkeeper to be located in the crease. All 2017 boys lacrosse rules changes recommended by the committee at its July 18-20 meeting in Indianapolis were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors. 2017 Tests and Rules Video Now Available

New 2014 Rules Changes

nfhsNineteen rules changes for the 2014 Boys Lacrosse season were approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Boys Lacrosse Rules Committee. These include major changes to substitutions, faceoffs, penalty enforcement, body checks, as well as a recommendation that three officials be used on all games. The changes are summarized below.

2013 NFHS Boys Lacrosse Rules Changes Focus on Sportsmanship, Risk Minimization

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (August 10, 2012) — A focus on sportsmanship and risk minimization highlighted many of the rules changes approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Boys Lacrosse Rules Committee at its July 16-18 meeting in Indianapolis.
